I've been feeling so bored of my hair lately, the dip dye has left my ends feeling seriously dry and the brown at the top of my hair has been looking crazy dull so I decided to go for a change and colour my hair a warmer, coppery colour. I think for autumn, when I am less tanned and my skin tends to need a little extra help looking bright, a more vibrant hair shade is a welcome change.
As I am trying to save money now I have rent and bills to pay, I decided to go down the DIY colour route and I tootled off to Boots yesterday to buy myself the relevant products. I purchased L'oreal Excellence Creme in '6 Natural Light Brown' to cover the blonde at the ends and L'oreal Feria in '74 Mango - Intense Copper' to apply all over my hair after.
So as you can see from the photos it looks quite a rich, warm brown in certain lights but in natural sunlight it has a lot of copper to it. I'm not sure how I feel about it at the moment, I think it might take some getting used to. I'm fed up of my hair full stop to be honest, it has no shape to it and the temptation to just get it cut off is getting hard to ignore!
What do you guys think? Will you be changing your colour for Autumn/Winter?

Thankyou, do love ombre hair but its so damaging! :( x
DeleteOh wow! You have absolutely gorgeous hair! I love the red tone and it looks sooo shiney! I know what you meen about the temptation to cut your hair off - I'm the same even though mine isn't nearly as long as yours! I just feel so unispired! Don't you ever get tempted to buy a wig or even a few wigs and just save all the hassle?!

Aww thankyou! Haha that does sound cheesy ;) I think im getting used to it now :) xx
DeleteYou look great, it's a lovely colour! I have blonde highlights in my hair at the minute but I've had a box of copper/red Loreal dye in my cupboard for about a month. I'm too scared to use it in case the blonde makes it go a dodgy colour, would you suggest using a stripping kit first? Or do I just go for it? xx
ReplyDeleteIt depends whether you want it all one colour or not, it would deffo go brighter where the blonde is! Youre probably best putting a light brown over the blonde and then doing it! :) xx
DeleteOMG ! i've been looking for that color !, help me! so my hair is brown like in between light and dark, should i go straight with the l'oreal 7.4 or do something else ?
ReplyDeleteHey, I have a Q. I have really dark brown hair naturally but also recently dyed the same as well. Did you apply the ombre to your full head of hair? I've been thinking about this, you are the first person I've seen that's done it.
ReplyDeleteHello. My hair now is light to medium brown . I would love to achieve the color of your upper part of hair but I am afraid that it will turn out very bright as I see on the dye box and on the photos of people who used it. What ws the color of you hair in the upper part before you used this mango copper dye?
